For those of you following Everquest Next and Landmark, you may have heard of some of the architecture competitions that were taking place in Landmark. Basically they challenge the builders in Landmark to create structures that they provide concept artwork for. If they really like what you've created your structure might actually appear in Everquest Next itself.
Well the voting part of the competition has begun. Hopefully I get some kind of mention from Daybreak. I have been reviewed by other players though. There are a few that have a twitch channel up that are going through all of the claims one by one... and they just got to mine this morning. It's in this 2 hour segment of an episode of a show called "The Morning Brew":
They visit mine at about 45 minutes in if you want to skip right to it. A mix of praise and constructive criticism. About what I expected as I know the build has some weaknesses, but I was happy to hear them get excited about a few things (the initial reaction at seeing the floating towers ("looks like a space ship!!") and discovering that there are actually planets to be seen through the telescope). The main guy, Geo, also liked my little desks as well.
I expect the game reviewers to be a bit more brutal. They are actually looking for stuff good enough to put in EQN. I have seen several builds from people that look like production quality work you would expect in a final game. Mine is good but definitely not in that category. :) But hopefully I'll get some mention.
